Time Studies & Process Improvement

To improve employee or manufacturing productivity, you need to first understand how time and activities are allocated. But traditional methods of gathering time information are awkward, unfriendly and inaccurate.
The innovative Pace Productivity system creates a win-win situation for the organization and its employees. It ís unique because employees track their own time using the easy-to-use electronic TimeCorder.

This electronic device allows the user to easily track time by pushing buttons associated with pre-coded activities. Each time a new button is pressed, time stops recording on the previous activity and begins recording on a new one, like a chess clock in reverse. After two weeks of tracking, we analyze the results and compare them to our extensive database. Employees enthusiastically embrace the TimeCorder because they are in control of their own time tracking, and consultants are absent. They can see their own results throughout the study.

RESULTS

“Retail banking results show a strong upward trend in selling hours…Among the sales staff selling hours are now 16.4 hours per week versus just 12.6 hours two years ago. Meanwhile the average administration time has gone done down by over 5 hours per week.”
-Financial institution

"The staff has commented on the ease of use of the TimeCorders. The exercise pointed out the variations in duties performed daily as well as the numbers of interruptions. This was a fun way to track where our time is spent! Mark, we're looking forward to receiving your recap of the results."
-Royal Bank of Canada

"The TimeCorder has two major advantages over our more traditional methods for data collection. First, our people perceive using the TimeCorders as their way of participating in a process. They are not intimidated and have established ownership and interest in conducting the studies. Second, we have been able to reduce dramatically the cost of obtaining the data for work measurement. I still can't get over the favorable reception our people have given your TimeCorders."
